Where a complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief or another person who would ordinarily handle the complaint, responsibility should be transferred to an uninvolved qualified editor or appropriate independent academic authority.
The person who is the subject of a complaint should not exercise sole control over its resolution.
Records of significant complaints and their resolution should be maintained confidentially.
